Positions Available:

General Manager

As a Best Buy General Manager you set the business rhythm for your store, which includes driving strategic business initiatives as well as meeting the demands of the daily operation. You are responsible for overseeing everything from sales, to operations, to inventory management, to loss prevention. You need to manage all aspects of store staffing which may include reviewing daily coverage schedules, managing payroll compliance, analyzing weekly labor reports, conducting interviews and leading new associate training. You must also focus on the execution of your store business plan, monitoring store performance and aligning your store leadership team through weekly meetings and daily coaching. General Managers also take a lead role on the selling floor. Much of your day will be spent working with your employees and connecting with our customers. This may mean helping to drive customer loyalty at the front lanes or addressing issues at the customer service counter.

Qualified candidates will have 3-5 years of business driving experience and/or retail management experience, a clear understanding of Profit and Loss (P&L) analysis, previous accountability for a multi-million dollar P&L, a proven track record of servant leadership, and demonstrated success in exceeding customers’ expectations. Big box and/or multi-unit management experience is highly preferred.

Assistant Manager

As an Assistant Manager you are relied upon as a leader on the selling floor, responsible for overseeing everything from Home Theater, to Wireless, to the Service Technicians. There are typically 3-5 Assistant Managers in a Best Buy store, each responsible for a specific discipline within the store, such as Sales, Customer Service, Merchandising and Inventory, or Sales Segment. You work closely with your associates, helping to keep energy and morale high. You need to provide ongoing feedback and coaching to your teams on their performance and opportunities and continually share store victories and employee wins. You will need to keep a regular pulse on the flow of the store, ensuring that there is always sufficient coverage to meet the needs of our customers. Assistant Managers keep close tabs on key performance metrics including power rankings, margin reports, loyalty reports, and sales drivers and drainers, as well as daily business plans. These metrics help drive business and achieve our financial goals.

Qualified candidates will have 2-4 years of business driving experience and/or retail management experience, people management experience, have an understanding of Profit and Loss analysis, previous exposure to and direct/indirect accountability for a multi-million dollar P&L, a proven track record of servant leadership, and demonstrated success in exceeding customers’ expectations. Prior big box retail management experience is preferred.

Supervisor

As a Supervisor, you support achievement of overall organization, sales and customer retention goals by helping direct, mentor and develop department associates. You assist the Assistant Managers, and support and implement targeted customer service and high-end sales techniques incorporating the Best Buy CARE Plus sales process. In addition, Supervisors may assist with recruiting, training and scheduling department personnel.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 1 year of sales management and/or leadership experience in a retail environment, experience in leading a team, the ability to work a flexible schedule, strong communication/presentation skills, and excellent problem-solving abilities. Product knowledge and/or technical certification is a plus.

Geek Squad Agent

As a Geek Squad Agent, you work in a fast-paced retail environment performing computer-related installations and technical support. Whether clients need a smoother-running computer, security from cybercrooks or repair of system hardware or software problems, Geek Squad Agents can help with any computer need – no matter where the computer was purchased. Agents will take care of the issue quickly and securely. Sales will not be your primary function (but let’s face it, when our clients spot a sharp technical mind dressed like an Agent, they can’t help but ask a few technology questions). Geek Squad Agents should have the ability to interact with clients while showing respect, courtesy and professionalism. A+ Certification is a plus.

Counter Intelligence Agents perform computer service and create loyal clients through unrivaled service in our Best Buy and Geek Squad Stores. Double Agents drive Geekmobiles and create loyal clients through unrivaled service while performing on-site repairs, setups and networking in homes and businesses. Special Agents set up server systems, networks, wireless hardware and routers, and perform routine maintenance on office IT systems.

Agent candidates must possess excellent client relations skills and technical service abilities. They should also have knowledge/experience with DOS, Windows 9x/ME/2000/XP or Apple MacOS; troubleshooting Operating Systems and Internet connection issues; computer hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting; software installations and upgrading; installation/troubleshooting of computer-related devices (video, sound, modem, printer, scanner, camera, etc.). Also required is the ability to research online, work as a team, work through problems, and explain computer-related sales and service options to people shopping in Best Buy and over the phone.
