APA:
The Advanced Projects and Applications (APA) Division, under the leadership of Division Manager Rob Hamrick, is based in Springfield Va. and performs diverse technical work and leading-edge research in the areas of signal exploitation and sensor systems, data fusion, modeling and simulation, and information systems.
APA supports national security through enterprise protection and surveillance technologies. APA employees provide government entities, businesses, and private institutions with strategies to protect against and respond to terrorism, criminal activity and natural disasters. APA’s SENTRY™ system is a state-of-the-art early warning and decision support system which is currently at use at many government facilities.
APA also supports national security through MicroSearch®, which can detect human presence in vehicles by sensing the heartbeat. Our nondestructive testing and inspection technology research is creating more effective characterization and analysis. ENSCO’s Technical Security Countermeasures use commercial sensor systems that both actively and passively detect, locate and identify subsurface objects and infrastructure.
ATE:
The Applied Technology and Engineering (ATE) Division, located in Springfield, Va. is under the leadership of Vice President Kevin Kesler, and applies rail technology to railroad safety research, development, and engineering, which ENSCO has been providing to government and commercial organizations for more than 25 years. Areas of rail safety expertise include track measurement and instrumentation, data acquisition and processing systems, field testing, and data collection and analysis.
ATE has delivered track inspection vehicles, systems and services all over the world. The division provides a full range of vehicle/track testing and troubleshooting services, including vehicle performance/acceptance testing, vehicle dynamics analysis, cab signaling system evaluations, wheel unloading tests and derailment investigations. ENSCO capabilities for testing and analysis include vibration and ride quality testing, wayside and onboard noise monitoring, wheel/rail force measuring, brake performance testing and wheel temperature testing.
ATE offers a full line of interconnected products and services for the rail industry, which provide safety assurance and operational efficiency. ENSCO’s software and data management products and services support the management, analysis and reporting of track conditions and track asset data.
