Cox Broadcasting Rep Firms consist of TeleRep, HRP and MMT, which are television station representatives that sell TV commercial airtime nationally to advertising agencies. All 3 companies represent a combined total of over 250 TV stations, with over 800 employees.

The television “Rep” sells a TV station’s commercial time to a Media Buyer at an Advertising Agency, a “middle-man” who represents Advertisers who want to promote their products and services through the use of television advertising. In addition to the business itself being interesting, selling in the “Rep” business is unique in that it DOES NOT INVOLVE COLD-CALLING

Job Titles and Descriptions:

Sales Assistant - works closely with the Account Executives processing orders for our client television stations. The sales assistant position is an important link in the chain that extends from the advertising agency to the television station.

Required skills must include:

Strong communication skills, desire for success, excellent leadership qualities, ability to organize and multi-task, responsive to deadlines, ability to handle heavy phone work and paperwork and basic computer skills. Entry-level salary: $25,000.

Research Analyst - provides the company and client station salespeople with the marketing material they need to sell advertising time on our stations. The responsibilities include processing and analyzing audience reports to evaluate and produce sales/marketing tools, serving as a liaison between station management and the research department, assisting in special projects for management or client stations and attending sales meetings.

Required skills for a Research Analyst include:

Competent math aptitude, desire for success, strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, strong writing skills, good organizational skills, effective communication skills and basic computer skills. Entry-level salary: $25,000.
