The Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection is the guardian of our nation’s borders. We safeguard the American homeland and protect the public against terrorists and their weapons of terror. We enforce the laws of the United States and foster economic security through lawful international trade and travel. All majors are welcome to apply for the positions of Customs and Border Protection Officer, Border Patrol Agent and Agriculture Specialist. (Applicants for the Agriculture Specialist must have at least 24 semester hours in one of the following: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry or a closely related field such as botany or entomology.)
Positions Available:
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officer
CBP Officers perform the fill range of inspection, passenger and cargo analysis, examination and law enforcement activities related to the arrival and departure of people, merchandise and conveyances at all ports of entry.
Border Patrol Agent
The primary focus of the Border Patrol Agent is to work in tandem with its border protection partners to fight the threat of terrorism, detect and prevent the smuggling and unlawful entry of undocumented aliens into the United States.
Agriculture Specialist
Agriculture Specialists apply a wide range of federal and local laws when determining the admissibility of agriculture commodities while preventing the introduction of harmful pests, diseases and potential argo-terrorism into the United States.
