Laurie is a dynamic speaker who engages her audience with humor and interactive activities. She empowers her listeners with simple, useful information and charges them with a burst of energy. They leave her presentations excited to make changes and to lead a healthier lifestyle.Despite knowing the importance of healthy eating and regular exercise for one’s emotional and physical health, Laurie also knows how challenging it can be to change one’s habits. She understands that each day consumers are bombarded with advertisements, media messages, food packaging labels, and health claims that are full of confusing and conflicting messages.
Laurie takes a fundamental approach to helping clients sift through and understand those messages so that they can be confident in making healthy choices when it comes to feeding themselves and their families. Through goal-setting, coaching, and education, Laurie works with clients to help them change their habits, step-by-step, so that today, tomorrow, and far into the future, they will be looking and feeling their best.

Laurie Barenblat holds a Masters in Food Policy and Applied Nutrition from the Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy in Boston, Massachusetts. Along with her coursework, Laurie interned with the Institute for Community Health, working on both Growing Healthy and the Healthy Weight Project. With Growing Healthy, Laurie designed recipes using the fruit and vegetable of the month to provide taste-tests in local elementary schools. She also developed a voting system and data analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of the program for the students, parents, and food service staff, as well as their level of desire to change school lunch. As part of the Healthy Weight Project, Laurie surveyed parents and children to assess their attitudes and beliefs towards healthy living and the children’s eating and exercise habits. She then designed survey methodology to code and record the findings.She then moved back home to Dallas and worked as the Healthy Living Classroom coordinator at the Whole Foods Market in Plano, Texas. She created monthly calendars of classes and managed the appropriate players, including guest chefs, nutrition professionals, and assistants, in order to provide high-quality, enlightening, and entertaining classes. She also led educational store tours and taught cooking and nutrition classes for children and adults.
Laurie helped develop Curbside Fitness, an in-home fitness and nutrition education service, and has now branched out to create her own consultancy business. She offers creative, yet simple, ways to help her clients reach their goals and progress toward a healthier lifestyle.
Laurie is a Certified Eating Coach and a member of the Society for Nutrition Education (SNE), Nutrition Entrepreneurs, Slow Food Dallas, Dallas Hadassah, the Speaker Coop, ABWA Outlook Positive Express Network (OPEN), and Women of Visionary Influence (WOVI).
