Eddins Counseling is an independent practice operated by Rachel Eddins for those desiring career and life satisfaction. Her passion is to help people discover their personal gifts and strengths to find meaning and fulfillment in work and life roles. Rachel specializes in providing career counseling and life coaching to women in transition, whether from a change in life roles, or a change in career direction. She is skilled in the practical aspects of understanding an individual’s skills and strengths, corporate business culture, and possesses extensive knowledge of occupations and industries. Furthermore, she is an expert in self-marketing strategies to include effective resumes, cover letters, networking, and job search techniques. She has presented on topics such as: Networking, Communication, Career Change, Women in the Workforce and Work/Life Balance.

In addition to the practical aspects of career counseling and life coaching, Rachel understands the emotional challenges of making a successful transition, including developing self-confidence and self-esteem and setting achievable goals. Keys to Rachel's success as a counselor are her skills in perceiving situations intuitively, quickly assessing and focusing on strengths, empathic concern for others, and maximizing potential in a solution-focused manner.

Rachel is a Licensed Professional Counselor, recognized as a Master Career Counselor through the National Career Development Association, and a Distance Credentialed Counselor, which certifies training in the use of counseling methods via phone and internet. Rachel is also qualified in administering personality assessments such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and career testing such as the Strong Interest Inventory. Beyond her credentials, Rachel's ability to genuinely care while never losing sight of the big picture makes her an excellent coach for anyone wishing to discover their talents and abilities and increase personal fulfillment.

Rachel has over 11 years experience in counseling/coaching, human resources and training. She has worked with professionals from all stages in career/life transition including international clients while living overseas. As a manager of a university alumni career services program, Rachel has also worked with clients and employers from all industries and has extensive knowledge of careers, industries, and employer needs.

As a counselor and coach, Rachel uses a collaborative, strengths/values based approach in helping you to set life and career goals. Rachel operates from the philosophy that you have the answers within you and the tools you need to achieve your goals. The coaching process is designed to identify those solutions and create strategic action in your life.
